Boy Scout Badge Day

The Western Kentucky Construction Association Career Development Committee has worked hard to find avenues to expose students to the various construction careers, and to help provide our community with a better understanding of the construction industry.  The committee’s efforts were recognized nationally in AGC of America’s magazine, CONSTRUCTOR.

Each year, WKCA holds a Boy Scout Merit Badge Day.  This event offers scouts the opportunity to earn merit badges in construction-related fields, such as architecture, engineering, drafting, electrical, plumbing, sheet metal, and safety.  Under the direct guidance of professionals in each of these fields, scouts are introduced to the high-tech world of construction and the hands-on skills necessary to perform work in these areas.

This effort has improved the image of the construction industry by introducing our Boy Scouts, some of whom are the future leaders of our community, to the rewarding and diverse career opportunities available in construction.

This year's Badge Day will be November 1 on the campus of Murray State University.  The event is limited to the first 200 scouts.  Pre-registration is required - no walk-ins allowed.  Registration begins August 15.  There is no cost to the scout for the event.   Registration information will be available at this website.
